Yeah so we had no sleeping at nap time today. We were in and out a bunch of times fishing them from behind the beds, under the beds etc etc etc. At one point we made a deal to just leave them be and see what happened. Leah got the monitor down from the shelf and started singing into it like a microphone and then it got very quiet and there was talk of inviting lambie and chickie for a ride in the car. Then we heard their room door open…when we got to the top of the stairs we found this and were told that they were dressed and ready to go. How can you be angry at something so funny.

They’ve got their art bibs on as well as anything else they could find that might be needed on a car ride…
They’ve been a real nightmare all afternoon. We decided to take them to the local farm but they fell asleep in the car so we just drove for 30 mins. They are still pretty cranky. It’s going to be a long week if they keep this no napping nonsense up. Hopefully bedtime will go better tonight.

Last weekend we set up the twin beds in Baby C’s room. They had all week to jump on them, lay in them and play on them. The novelty wore off by about mid week.
Yesterday afternoon after their nap I took them to the park while John took apart their cribs and set up the beds in their room. We skipped bath and brought them upstairs around 8ish to explore their new room. We had planned to gate their room so they couldn’t get into the closet/rest of the house but the gate caused a bit of a freak out so we locked the bathroom door and made sure the gate on the top of the stairs was closed. I had bought two Ikea wall lamps but of course one of them didn’t work so they also got a bedside table and a lamp.
By 8:30 we left the room. Emma dropped her water cup and couldn’t get it at about 8:45pm but other than that they were fine. They read until about 9 and then fell asleep. I was shocked - I’ve been preparing for badness.
They both slept all night, nobody fell out of bed and when they woke up (at 6:30…) we listened in the monitor while they decided to switch beds and read their books. They didn’t leave their room until I came and got them at 7:15. Again, I was shocked.
Hopefully bedtime will continue to go as smoothly.
We just put them down for their first nap in the beds. They’ve been fooling around for 20 mins now. I don’t think naps are going to go as well.
