Oh boy is it hot today. Thankfully the guy is coming from Sears tomorrow to do an estimate on air conditioning. We probably should have got the estimates sooner but we’ve been busy and we weren’t expecting it to be 30C so early in June.
We had another busy weekend. Yesterday Mattamy had a BBQ for all the new people in the community. They had music, food and a petting zoo and the girls got a kick out of the animals. They are really into ducks right now and Leah liked the goat. We met a couple there with boy/girl 18 month old twins. The mom seemed overwhelmed and she told me to enjoy it while they still couldn’t walk. Coby, Carrie and Ronan came over for dinner and we had steaks on the BBQ. Mmmm. After dinner we went for a walk. We had a good laugh at what our lives have become. Ronan is much more alert than when we last saw him and he’s starting to smile and coo.
Earlier on in the week, Alicia and Jeff said we could go for a swim today if the weather was nice. I have been glued to the Weather Network hoping that it would be pool worthy. I got my wish. It was scorching hot and sunny and lucky us got to spend the day in the pool! It was the first time the girls have been swimming and once they got over the fact that the water wasn’t bath warm they loved it. I dunked Leah twice and she made all sorts of funny faces but she didn’t cry. We didn’t attempt it with Emma since she gets all freaked out if you try to lay her back in the water. We figured dunking her would ruin the afternoon and decided to save it for swim class. I am signing them up for the next class and we are planning on making full use of the pool at Bronte Creek. Amelia is also growing like a weed. She’s a very peaceful baby and she was having a great time playing on her mat in the shade.
This time last year John was away at Jeff’s Bachelor party (after much convincing that I would be fine by myself for a night) and Troy had just chauffeured me home from Sarah’s first birthday party. I had made it to 33 weeks and I was determined to get out for a few hours. Little did I know that in a few hours I would be in labour and my lazy life of lying around moaning and groaning would come to a very abrupt end.
