We had a very nice Christmas and we are all ready to do nothing for a couple of days. Travelling with two babies is an adventure!
After 3 hours of getting ready we arrived in Oshawa on Christmas Eve. John's Grandpa's Birthday is Christmas Eve so the whole family has dinner at his Aunt Bonnie's. We arrived first which gave the girls some time to adjust. There were alot of people but they both did very well and let everyone hold them and play with them.
We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas night at John's Grandpa's. We brought the playpen. They hadn't been in there together since October and you could really see how much they've grown. We play the girls daily eating/napping schedule by ear but their bedtime is firm at 10pm. We didn't make any exceptions and they slept until 9 Christmas morning (probably the last time we get to sleep in that late Christmas morning for a few years!) and 10am on Boxing Day. They are good little sleepers.
The girls first Christmas was very nice. They were spoiled by everyone and they got wonderful gifts. They are both teething now and we were a bit worried that they would be bad tempered but with the help of Mr. Ambesol they were very good with everyone. Leah's bottom two teeth are completely through now and you can see them when she smiles. I'll have to get a picture. Emma cut her first tooth a couple days before Christmas but it's not obvious yet.
We ate very well over the holidays. John's Grandpa did all the baking and then cooked up a 25 pound turkey. I think at 92 he has more energy than me. He cooked the turkey, set the table and then after dinner didn't sit down until everything was cleaned up and put away.
Yesterday we went to the Edgars for a visit. Nancy Edgar could give Martha Stewart a run for her money. They live in an old house and it was beautifully decorated…oh and the food…it was delicious. Last year I was so sick with the babies for our visit that I didn't enjoy the food. I more than made up for it this year!
Today we have been lying around the condo enjoying some quiet time (I am still in my pjs - it's after 4!). We will spend the next few days relaxing and visiting with friends.

Our first Christmas - the monkeys wouldn't look at the camera!
